Back in the pre-Cambrian days of 2006, we launched the Webbed-O-Meter as (what we believe to be) the first free tool to measure online word of mouth.
The Webbed-o-Meter can help track how effective you are at inspiring consumer generated content online, call it buzz marketing, social media marketing or viral marketing. Call it the Webbed-OH-ME (with long "o"s and "e"s) ter or Webbed-O-Meter (like "barometer").
A lot has changed since 2006. This thing called Twitter, for example. And the growth in photo and video sharing sites, the value of a presence on social networks, ways of determining the credibility of blogs, and a whole lot more. A few things remained unchanged though, our promise to always bring you great values at wholesale prices, and my wardrobe.
Okay, seriously, today after months of gathering input, re-writing algorithms, talking to all of you at conferences across the country and a few shakes of the magic 8 ball, we announce the new Webbed-O-Meter.
Kind of.
